assessment of biochemical and histopathological changes in the liver of chick embryo treated with a commercial deltamethrin formulation
Authors
abstract
we studied the hepatotoxic effects of a deltamethrin containing formulation (decis®) on developing em-bryo of gallus domesticus. fertilized eggs were immersed in three different concentrations of deltamethrin (12.5, 25 and 50 mg/l) for 60 min at 37 ˚c prior to incubation (ed 0) and on the 4th day of incubation (ed 4) and incubated till embryonic day (ed) 16. exposure to 50 mg/l of deltamethrin resulted in a significant decrease in total protein and total glycogen content in the liver when exposed on ed 4 and ed 0 respec-tively, while total glutathione content was reduced at concentrations applied on both the exposure days. among enzymes, liver alkaline phosphatase activity was significantly increased at 25 and 50 mg/l deltame-thrin when embryos were exposed on ed 0 and 4, whereas the glutamate pyruvate transaminase activity showed a marked increase in animals exposed to 50 mg/l deltamethrin only at ed 4. histophathological evaluation revealed mild to marked cellular lesions in liver sections of insecticide treated embryo. the magnitude of most of these changes appeared to be dose dependent being more severe on exposure to high-est dose of deltamethrin. the observed pathological changes include degeneration and necrosis of hepato-cytes, cytoplasmic vacuolization, enlarged and congested sinusoidal spaces, leucocyte infiltrations and con-gestion and dilation of the central vein.

full textHistological Changes in the Liver and Biochemical Parameters of Chickens Treated with Lead Acetate II
Background: Lead is one of the heavy metals that is persists in the environment and has destructive effects on various human tissues. We investigated the effects of lead on the histological features of liver and its enzymatic functions. Methods: Forty chickens were purchased and randomly divided into four groups. In addition to the normal feed, each group received different doses of lead aceta...

testing plays a vital role in any language teaching program. it allows teachers and stakeholders, including program administrators, parents, admissions officers and prospective employers to be assured that the learners are progressing according to an accepted standard (douglas, 2010). the problems currently facing language testers have both practical and theoretical implications but the first i...
Histopathological and Enzymatic Changes in Liver of Mice Treated with Tricyclazole
ABSTRACT Background and objectives: Tricyclazole (TCZ) is a member of triazole fungicides, which might cause damage in living systems. This study was carried out to examine effects of TCZ on liver tissues and level of liver enzymes. Methods: Forty mice were randomly divide...
full textHistopathological changes and biochemical analysis of sulfadiazine injected in egg in chicken embryo pectoral muscles
This study aimed to investigate the effects of different doses of sulfadiazine on embryonic chicken pectoral muscles. In total, 100 fertile eggs were obtained and divided into five groups of control (no injection) and sulfadiazine injection at doses of 2, 10, 30, and 70 mg/kg. After hatching, pectoral muscle tissues were harvested from the newly hatched chickens for histopathological examinatio...
